Ms. Alley is an associate at Kenney & Sams, where she focuses her practice in civil litigation and appellate advocacy. She practices in the areas of business litigation, employment discrimination, construction law, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability and premises liability.

Ms. Alley has successfully represented individual and corporate clients before state, federal and administrative tribunals. Her extensive litigation experience includes both the prosecution and defense of claims involving medical malpractice, premises liability, products liability, automobile negligence, legal malpractice, contractual disputes, breach of fiduciary duties, age and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, construction litigation and business dissolution issues.

In addition, Ms. Alley has a history of successfully defending law enforcement officers in high profile criminal, civil and administrative matters. As a result, she is proficient in all aspects of police training, the use of force continuum and the legal standards applicable to law enforcement officers’ conduct. Ms. Alley’s many appellate successes include a case of first impression in Maryland which established the standard for evaluating an officer’s use of force during the course of his or her duties.

Ms. Alley’s professional accomplishments also include obtaining a substantial settlement against a major automobile manufacturer for injuries resulting from a defective air bag and the successful defense of a death penalty case. She is an accomplished appellate advocate with published decisions in both civil and criminal appeals. As a result of her experience, Ms. Alley was invited to author an article on civil litigation which was published in the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association’s Trial Reporter.

Before joining Kenney & Sams, Ms. Alley established her own law practice in 2006 when she relocated to Massachusetts after 12 years with a premier AV rated law firm in Baltimore, Maryland. Throughout her career, she has been both an active member of the legal community and volunteer with local charitable programs supported by the bar.

Ms. Alley is admitted to practice in the various state courts and tribunals for both the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Maryland. In addition, she is admitted to practice before the federal bar in the United State’s District Courts for the District of Massachusetts and the District of Maryland. She is currently a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association.

Ms. Alley received her law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1994, where she was a staff editor of the Law Forum and an appellate intern in the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989.
