- The Boston Bar Foundation (“BBF”), has reappointed Chris Kenney as a Trustee. The BBF is the charitable arm of the Boston Bar Association and is dedicated to raising money for pro bono legal services for the poor.
- Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition has listed Chris Kenney as one of the top business litigation attorneys in the country for 2007.
- Boston Magazine has named Chris Kenney and Mike Sams as New England Super Lawyers, a designation limited to the top 5% of attorneys in the New England region. The rankings result from peer review by attorneys throughout the New England states.
- Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (“MCLE”) has reappointed Chris Kenney as chairman of the civil litigation curriculum advisory committee.
- The Boston Bar Foundation has named Chris Kenney to its Society of Fellows.
- Chris Kenney is a graduate of the American Bar Association’s inaugural class of the Leadership Academy of the Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section. Chris was one of 26 lawyers in the country selected for this prestigious honor.
- Chris Kenney has been named to the public interest Honor Roll for the ABA Tort, Trial, and Insurance Practice Section. The Honor Roll recognizes attorneys who undertake substantial public interest and pro bono work.
- The Defense Research Institute (“DRI”) recently named Chris Kenney the 2007 recipient of the Fred H. Sievert Award given to the outstanding defense bar leader in America.
- Chris Kenney has been elected Vice President of the Federal Bar Association – Massachusetts Chapter
- Chris Kenney presently serves as immediate Past President of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyer’s Association.
- Chris Kenney has been named Chair-elect of the Trial Techniques Committee of the American Bar Association TIPS Section.
- Chris Kenney and Michelle Tessier recently obtained a defense verdict for their clients, a major airline carrier and national security corporation, in a civil trial in Norfolk Superior Court. The defense verdict is notable for the fact that we strategically admitted negligence and liability, but then rebutted the case entirely on causation and damages.
- Dan Hohler and Chris Kenney recently obtained summary judgment in a commercial litigation case for our client, a developer who was sued by a furniture outlet alleging breach of contract. Following the summary judgment dismissing the claims against our client, Chris and Dan countersued and recovered a substantial settlement for the attorney’s fees our client incurred in the case on the basis that the lawsuit should never have been filed and was maliciously prosecuted without good cause.
- Kenney & Sams, P.C. obtained the settlement and dismissal of a civil rights claim pending against our client, a Fortune 500 company, at a mediation hearing in the United States District Court in Connecticut.
